At the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Intel made an announcement of entering into partnership with Lava International with the motive to enter the emerging smartphone market in India.
Finnish handset maker Nokia has introduced a new smartphone called as 808 PureView with a unique 41 megapixel camera. The 808 PureView Smartphone is worth €450 and runs on Symbian OS.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 with two trims, a 7-inch and a 10.1-inch display screen, has been announced by the Samsung. Both the trims feature identical specifications like a 1 GHz dual-core CPU, 1 GB of RAM, a 3MP camera on the back and a VGA camera on the front.
Sony has introduced two smartphones, the Xperia P and Xperia U, which will run Android 2.3 Gingerbread at the time of their launch in Q2 of 2012. However, the phones can be upgraded with an Android 4.0 ICS.
BSNL has launched three tablets along with the cheapest model worth Rs. 3,250. The company is expected to take on the cheap networking Aakash devices by entering the growing Indian tablet market with its cheapest model. The other two tablets are priced at Rs. 10,999 and Rs. 13,500.
Samsung has launched its Series 5 ultrabooks at an introductory price of Rs. 48,990 in India. Besides launching ultrabooks, Samsung has also launched mynotepc.com which is a service providing a variety of multimedia content to Samsung laptop users for free for the first three months.
HP has launched its first ultrabook, HP Folio 13 in India for Rs. 69,990. With a 1.6GHz Intel Core i5 processor, 4GB DDR3 RAM and a 13-inch (1366 x 768p resolution) display, the ultrabook also feature an optical drive that is absent in all the other devices currently offered in the ultrabook range.
The Galaxy S Blaze 4G of T-Mobile is an Android Gingerbread handset, which will come loaded with a 4-inch Super AMOLED screen, a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 processor, HSPA+ speeds, a 5MP rear camera and a front facing camera of 1.3MP. The T-Mobile’s Galaxy S Blaze 4G is priced below $200.

Apple is working on the development of a smaller iPad featuring 8-inch display with the same resolution as that of the iPad 2. After iPad 3 likely to be unveiled soon, this small version of the iPad tablets is expected to feature faster processor.
