LG Optimus Sol and Optimus Hub comes to India
February 9, 2012: LG has launched its Optimus Sol and Optimus Hub in the Indian smartphone market. The LG Optimus Sol is known as LG E730 and the Optimus Hub bears the E510 code. Both the phones run Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS.
The name Sol is derived from the Latin word for sun. According to the company, the device is named so due to the brightness offered by its 3.8-inch Ultra AMOLED display screen with the resolution of 800 x 480p. This display delivers two times better clarity compared to the traditional AMOLED screen. It features 1.4GHz processor, 5MP autofocus camera and supports Wi-Fi, DLNA, GPS and HSDPA connectivity.
Optimus Hub comes loaded with a 3.5-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen display offering resolution of 480 x 320p. It sports a 5MP autofocus camera with 4x digital zoom, face and smile detection sensors. It runs on an 800MHz ARMv6 processor and also comes equipped with an Andreno 200 GPU. This handset supports GPRS, EDGE, 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity. It is incorporated with 512MB of RAM and Optimus 2.0 User Interface.
These smartphones are available throughout India at authorised retail stores. LG Optimus Sol is priced at Rs. 19,000, while the Optimus Hub is priced at Rs. 14,500.
