February 2, 2012: LG will soon enter the triple SIM phone market, where only few low cost Indian and Chinese brands compete. Thus, the triple SIM phone market is smaller than dual SIM phone market. Currently, only few brands like Spice, G’Five, Zen Mobile, Micromax and Intex are actively operational brands in the triple SIM segment. However, these brands also offer very limited range of phones with triple SIM and these phones have very basic features.

Now, entry of LG in this segment may bring some change and also motivate other big handset players to enter the segment. However, LG is gearing up to launch triple SIM phone ‘A290’ in Russia this month for €75, according to GSMarena.  This first triple SIM phone of the LG will feature 2.2-inch display with 176 x 220 pixels of resolution. It will also be incorporated with a 1.3 megapixel camera having flashlight and a 1500 mAh battery.

Considering the specs of the phone, it may seem that the phone is not very exciting. However, it is likely to attract many other big players and well-renowned brands in the segment. This would in return expand this exciting mobile market throughout the world. So, we can expect LG to not only confine itself to the Russian market and soon launch the phone in other countries, where triple SIM phone market is progressive.
