February 14, 2012: Research in Motion has made an announcement of offering love-based applications especially for Valentine’s Day for free. All the BlackBerry smartphone owners can download and install these applications from the BlackBerry App World, absolutely free of cost.

Some applications offered on this Valentine’s Day include a Valentine Slider based theme and Valentine wallpapers that are perfectly developed for the new look of the device and are free of cost. The offer includes free as well as paid applications which are available for free before 15th February, 2012. Later, the paid applications listed on the site won’t be available for free anymore.

These applications may not be for daily use, but these are surely used by many especially on the Valentine’s Day. Moreover, BlackBerry is providing the users with all the useful and top applications on a single page. However, these applications require extensive research and lot of time on the BlackBerry App World, normally.

So, RIM is trying to spread love amongst the BlackBerry users by providing these love based applications for free as a Valentine’s Day gift. This will surely contribute as a great promotional strategy for the BlackBerry to retain its existing customers and also attract new customers who are apps freak and die hard lovers.
