Android Smartphones & tablets get Chrome Web Browser
February 9, 2012: Google has launched a beta version of the Chrome for the Android smartphones and tablets. This a mobile version of the popular Chrome web browser, which fits well into Google universe to provide almost all the in desktop Google apps with more incentive to choose Android as their mobile OS. Thus, we can expect Chrome to be the default browser for the Android OS.
Google wanted to make Chrome that would be perfect for the Android and hence, they took so long to finally develop a mobile version of the Chrome. “We didn’t want to just push out Chrome light,” said Sundar Pichai, senior vice president of Google Chrome. “Our goal was to get all of Chrome onto Android.”
Thus, the new chrome browser is the full version for Android with all the features available in the desktop version and performs remarkably well. All the desktop Chrome users will be able to access their bookmarks as the bookmarks will be synced across all their browser versions after signing into their Google account. You can also access the same pages that you have left opened on the laptop at home from your mobile Chrome browser.
Moreover, the search terms that you have entered on your desktop browser are also carried over to Chrome for Android. This helps you save previous time and screen tapping. The most significant of all is the astoundingly fast speed of the Chrome. For example, if you type an address into the search bar, the Crome browser quickly predicts the page you wish to visit and starts loading it in the browser background. Therefore, most of the site page already gets loaded prior to your clicking the ‘go’ button.
However, Chrome for Android is available only for smartphones and tablets that runs Android version 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Currently, very few of the phones and tablets run Android 4.0. One significant thing to be noticed is that, the browser is ‘beta’ version of Chrome and so expecting everything to work perfectly is too much.
